Profile: Born in Kangping, Liaoning Province, with a doctoral degree in law, Professor Fang is doctoral supervisor and postdoctoral co-supervisor of Jilin University School of Law, and director of Property Law Research Center of Jilin University. He is also the vice chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee for Law Majors in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education and vice president of the China Law Education Research Association. He has been awarded the titles of the first National Famous Teacher, Cultural Master and “Four Batch” Talents of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, and enjoys the special allowance of the State Council.
Publications: more than 200 papers have been published in Social Sciences in China, China Legal Science, Chinese Journal of Law and other journals. The representative papers are “The Question of Appropriate Retroactivity in Civil Law” (Social Sciences in China, No.5. 2015) “The Structure of Rights of Personal Identity and Critique of Their Commercialization” (Social Sciences in China, No. 7, 2018), “The types of court decisions leading to Property Variation” (Chinese Journal of Law, No.1, 2015), “Legal Issues and Countermeasures of Housing Expropriation on State Owned Land” (China Legal Science, No.1, 2012), etc. He published more than 20 books, with representative works including “Research on Public Welfare Expropriation Law” (selected into the 2010 National Achievement Library of Philosophy and Social Science) and “Research on Basic Issues of Usufructuary Right”, “Legislation Idea and System Construction of Civil Law”, “Reform and Improvement of Real Rights Law”, etc. His scientific research achievements have won second prizes twice and third prizes twice of Excellent Scientific Research Achievements Award of Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, more than ten other provincial scientific research awards, one second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award, one major project and one key project and two general projects of National Social Science Fund.
